In Cover and Uncover: Eric Cameron, Diana Nemiroff contextualizes the title of this compilation of works: "The title Numb Bares (a saucy double entendre for “numbers” in a counting rhyme that two bare-bottomed models recite at different points in the tape) alerts us to the punning structure of the entire video, which pairs various technical effects and procedures such as mixed images, split screen, false continuity, and editing with sexual fantasies fleetingly alluded to under the cover of childhood games."
