Thelma is an animated short of the iconic last scene from the film Thelma and Louise (1991). It is animated in a similar style to the popular Sailormoon series that was released at around the same time. Both movies featured strong female protagonists and illustrate the spirit of female empowerment. The film attempts to draw connections between the analogous themes of both sources through an aesthetic hybridization.
