Watch my Back is the product of my involvement in the self-representation video workshops that I facilitate in Colombia and Canada working in marginalized neighborhoods with youth at risk.

It focuses on the social, cultural, conceptual, and architectural spaces youth inhabit and their day-to-day existence and subjectivity. It visually fragments the regime of homogenous representation and validates the constant individual desire for knowledge, action, and emancipation.

Watch my Back is about liberation from the obviousness of violence. It offers different and simultaneous views of impromptu architectures, mediated “psychosociocultural” environments continually questioned by the ceaseless reframing of distributions of collective or individual capacities, trying to violently or peacefully  “crack open the unity of the given and the obviousness of the visible, in order to sketch a new topography of the possible”.
