once upon a time

The film starts off with a tidy living room. No trace of its inhabitants is revealed by the revolving camera, but after a while animals of various species take over the place. Their presence is registered by the camera almost casually in passing. It continues to circle around the room in spite of the events developing around it. The camera’s unwavering movement suggests the unavoidability of what is going to happen. The fragmentary impressions the spectator gathers, however, provide enough material for a story, in which, just as in many fairy tales, the laws of the everyday appear to be suspended.
