burth combines appropriated imagery and sound from Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 A Space Odyssey and Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now…
By using two well known canons of American film, burth steals Hollywood’s extensive visual repertoire to explore dualities: creation/destruction, violence/peace, life/death, finite/infinite, microcosm/macrocosm, journey/stay, place/no-place; burth, combines the beautiful and the ugly simultaneously. It’s soundtrack is a blending of the source sound from each film, and leads us into an “audiogasmic” ear-piercing climax.
