Why are some plants desired in our gardens, and others uprooted and discouraged to flourish? How can we expect seeds and people to respect borders if opportunities for growth are disparate on either side? Inspired by the continuing struggle of African refugees stranded in Berlin without the basic rights to work and move freely, UNKRAUT is a visual representation of the filmmaker's experience with European xenophobia.
