Slut or Nut: The Diary of a Rape Trial follows one woman’s search for justice after she is sexually assaulted. In the first year of her Ph.D, Mandi Gray is raped by another Ph.D student. Though she is the victim in the case, it seems at every step of the process, Mandi is the one on trial.
With her frustration mounting at the university’s and the police’s lack of response to her rape report, Mandi turns to activism. She files a human rights complaint against her university for systemic gender discrimination, citing their ongoing failure to respond to campus sexual assaults against women. Slut or Nut follows Mandi through the legal trial of the man who she says sexually assaulted her.
Will her efforts yield systemic change? Or will she just be labeled as another “Slut or Nut” while she watches her rapist walk free?
