The Old Mother is one of the oldest sugar maples on the Hendry Farm. Filmed in the fall, this is the third in a series of videos of performances with individual trees. The centre of this tree, for the most part, is hollow and will eventually fall apart under the weight of its limbs. The surrounding saplings will ultimately take her place once the space opens up for them. The actions are the result of a deep focus and intense observations of the tree, the trunk, the branches and up into the canopy.
