Filmed in the summer, this is the fourth in a series of videos focussing on trees in different seasons. This performative exploration honours the venerable copper beech tree planted in 1930 and is now coming to the end of its lifespan. The tree is approached as a body that is alive, vulnerable, and ailing. Using nonverbal communication, this empathetic encounter intends to show respect to a tree that is more than a backdrop against which human narratives unfold.
