Ngaire was born in Winnipeg, and grew up in European dominated cultures such as Winnipeg, Vancouver and New Zealand until she moved to Zimbabwe as a teenager. Zimbabwe provided her with a taste of her African background and exposed her to the diverse ways cultures communicate. When she moved back to Winnipeg to finish high school, communications became her thing. She went on to get a degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa. Throughout the years, poetry, prose and video have become her tools to stir discussion on gender, race and matters of the heart.
For the past year she has been teaching video to young people and working and working as an assistant producer at TVO. She is currently in Africa continuing studies and producing a kids show.
